MonoRail from Tech Lighting offers all the function
and flexibility of a track lighting system without sacrificing
form. The rail is hand bendable, so you can custom create
the ideal shape to enhance and illuminate any room.
Try a smooth curve to follow the line of a column or
kitchen island, or create drama by running MonoRail
along a soffit. Two-Circuit MonoRail provides two individually
switchable circuits on a single run for a new level
of lighting control.
MonoRail bends very easily by hand to almost
any imaginable shape, but the pre-bent 90°
curve and S curve make MonoRail even easier
to install.
Horizontal 90o curves are sold by radius,
or the distance from the center of the circle
to the outside edge. Join four 90o curves
to create a circle with a width (overall
width) equal to twice the specified radius.

with conductive connectors to join rail

Tech Lighting MonoRail finishes
MonoRail is a hand-bendable low-voltage
system. It is available in four Finishes:
Antique Bronze, Chrome, Gold, and Satin
Nickel.
MonoRail is Low-voltage conductor of two
individual conductive metal pieces fused
together by a plastic separator. Hand-bendable,
field-cuttable Wall MonoRail is rated for
300 watts at 12 volts, 600 watts at 24 volts.
Each piece of rail is shipped with conductive
connectors to join rail pieces end to end.
Order additional connectors if cutting and
rejoining rails. Standard MonoRail bends
horizontally to a radius as small as 6"
and vertically to a radius as small as 24".
Color: Insulator is available in clear
and brown.
Finish: Antique bronze, chrome, satin nickel.

Tech
Lighting MonoRail is ordered as
separate parts, MonoRail, supports, transformers
and the lights themselves. They are also
available as kits.

Transformer can be upgraded to higher wattage
to support more lights.
How
do I design my own MonoRail?
First: a) Choose lighting
elements.
Choose accessories, if required or desired.
b) Choose lamps (bulbs), 12 or 24 volt,
that do not exceed maximum wattage of element
or accessory.
(may be included with element).
c) Add up total lamp wattage on system.
This is the number you will need to order
your transformer. How many watts will you
need?
d) Choose finish (Chrome or Satin Nickel)of
system and make sure all of the parts come
in this finish.
2nd: a) Decide where
you want the rail to run.
b) Sketch it to scale, so you know what
Length you want.
c) Measure Length of MonoRail run.
d) Specify one pair of End Caps for each
open end of run.
e) Count one Standoff for every three feet
of rail.
f) Does the run include a sharp angle or
turn? If so, you will need a Flexible Connector
to make the turn.
If you would like, the rail can be custom
bent at the factory. Just ask us.
3rd: a) Select a Transformer.
Do you want a surface transformer (visible)
or a remote transformer (hidden in the ceiling
or a closet)?
Do you want a magnetic or electronic transformer?
Do you want 12 volt or 24 volt?
Most people select 12 volt electronic.
Now you need that number you came up with
in step 1. How many watts do you need? We
can help you decide whether you need single
or dual feed.
b) If you have selected to use a remote
transformer, you need to select a power
feed canopy. Do you want round or square?
What size hole do you need to cover?
c) Or select a Surface Transformer. Remember! The wattage of the
transformer must meet or exceed wattage
of lamps calculated earlier! d) If powering system with
more than one transformer, add Isolating
Connectors to isolate the feeds from each
other.
e) If dropping system a distance below ceiling,
add one Power Extender to each power feed
(add two when using dual feed).

a) Select how to mount it.
Select Standoffs that match or exceed drop
of the Surface Transformer or Power Feed.
b) How long is your MonoRail going to run?
You will need 1 for every 3 feet of rail.
c) Is your ceiling vaulted? If so, you will
need one Power Vault Adapter for each power
feed (add two when using dual feed) and
one Standoff Vault Adapter for each Standoff.
This covers the most common MonoRail applications,
but MonoRail can do almost anything. For
